Trade Kettles were in use from the mid 1600’s all the way to the American Civil War. They were commonly traded with Indians, thus their name. Riveted dog-eared tabs secure the iron bail. Our Half Gallon Trade Kettle is about 7-1/2” in diameter, 4' tall, and holds approximately 2 quarts. These Trade Kettles are made of solid brass with folded and riveted brass ears and the interior is tin lined for food-safety. The sides on this kettle are slightly angled and the bottom is slightly rounded. Imported.
