The Nike Air Force 1 Low Colin Kaepernick, as the name suggests, pays homage to NFL quarterback and civil rights activist Colin Kaepernick who, besides his excellent sporting career, surged to wider stardom for taking the knee during a pre-game performance of the American national anthem in protest of brutality. Despite this, Nike has remained resolute in its support of the star and has offered him his very own iteration of its most famous silhouette. Aesthetically, the model borrows the gradient-detailed Swoosh, which can be found on the player’s favourite pair of Nike football cleats.
